For over 85 years, Camps Leelanau and Kohahna have offered quality camping programs that provide young Christian Scientists with an opportunity to learn about their true identity, shed limitations, and deepen their understanding of Christian Science. The Camps continue to operate on the core principles established by founders Maude and Skipper Beals in the 1920’s. Integrity, unselfishness, and a commitment to excellence are reaffirmed each year as components of a successful life. In the nurturing atmosphere at Leelanau and Kohahna, young people learn to value these principles in themselves and others, thus preparing themselves for leadership roles.

We invite you to participate in this mission. Your support is vital to a successful summer program. The prayerful, financial, and volunteer backing received helps to keep the Camps operating at the highest standard. Every gift to Camp brings blessings to young students of Christian Science, and they continue to share those blessings with others.

Camps Leelanau and Kohahna welcome your support for these funds:

Endowment Fund – The Leelanau and Kohahna Endowment Fund exists to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the Camps. Gifts to the Endowment are permanently protected while a portion of the interest income may be used for capital improvements, maintenance, counselor salary enhancements or annual Campership Funds.

Campership Fund – The Campership Fund is used to provide assistance with camp tuition for qualified families. Gifts to this fund go toward camperships for the current summer.

General Fund - This fund provides unrestricted support for operating expenses and current projects.

Kohahna/Leelanau for Girls Alumnae Club Fund – Contributions to this fund help the Club achieve its goals to keep in contact with alumnae and offset the cost of reunions. When possible, the Alumnae Club makes a contribution to the Campership Fund.

Leelanau Alumni Club Fund – Contributions to this fund help the Club achieve its goals to keep in contact with alumni, and offset the cost of reunions. When possible, the Alumni Club makes a contribution to the Campership Fund.

A thank you gift…
If your Camp experience happened at the Port Oneida location, you most likely have fond memories of meeting by the Big Tree for activities. This past year the tree has “donated” a few limbs to Camp. As the limbs have fallen, Betty Rhoades, a Kohahna fixture herself, has taken them and used the wood to create some unique and beautiful bowls. Those who donate $1,000 or more to the Endowment fund, can request a bowl. Please make this note with your contribution, and we would be happy to send you one, while they last. Bowls vary in size from 3” to 5” wide.
