Summer 2010 is on its way! Camps Leelanau and Kohahna are gearing up for a new season of fun, friendship, adventure and achievement. The camp staff and Board of Trustees extend a warm “thank you” to all of the donors who continue to give generously to the Camps throughout the year. Each contribution to the Camps is an expression of love, and blesses both the giver and the young students of Christian Science we serve.

Spring 2010 projects include seal-coating the floors and showers of the Kohahna bathhouses, upgrading the lighting and bathroom fixtures in Eagle’s Nest, and completing construction of the new lodge building for Leelanau. Once construction of the new lodge has been completed, the building will need interior furniture and  exterior landscaping. While this building will be used primarily by the boys’ camp in the summertime, the additional space will bless all of our programs, including our Outdoor Center programs throughout the school year.

As we plan for the summer of 2010 current needs include:

• Interior furnishings for Leelanau lodge $10,000
• Landscaping for Leelanau lodge $5,000
• New backpacks and equipment for Kohahna Trips $1,200
• Remanufactured engine for Yellow Ski Boat $4,800
• Replace (2) washers and dryers $2,200
• Stain exterior of staff bunkhouses and laundry building $6,000
• Replace 6 canoes and 10 paddles $8,200
• Replenish Counselor Travel Funds $9,000
• Replenish Campership Funds $35,000
• Endowment
